Preparing For the Wedding | Persediaan Sebelum Kahwin

If you are a prospective Wedding Couple reading this article, surely your heart shall skip a beat or beat extra fast. Wedding preparations need to be as detailed and perfect as possible. Perhaps not 100% perfect, however we must ensure the necessary steps towards planning a successful wedding, be carefully executed.

1. CHOOSING THE DATE

Selecting a date during festive seasons causes an increase in price of goods and services due to higher demands. Therefore, retailers and service providers are surely to increase price of their goods ands services as the wish. Apart from festive seasons, school holidays seem to be a favourite period of time for couples to hold their wedding day. This is due to the convenience for relatives, friends and relations to attend their wedding. If all couples were to think the same way, then many events shall take place during the said holiday and it will not be easy to acquire the date during the period.

2. ATTENDING THE MARRIAGE COURSE

A Marriage course is compulsory for a muslim couple soon to be wed. The main purpose of the course is for newlyweds to acquire knowledge and understand the basic responsibilities of both husband and wife. Building a happy and heavenly home, filled with love is not as easy as it seems. The basic knowledge and understanding duties of both parties in a marriage, of which 80% will be delivered throughout the course.

For couples getting married, and have not yet enrolled in the course, it is advised to register at least three (3) months before the event. Should a couple have already taken the course earlier like two or three years ago, it would be a wise decision to refresh themselves by enrolling again. The marriage course could be updated with more valuable and updated learning information on marriage duties and responsibilities.

3. BOOK YOUR VENUE, HOTEL, CATERING AND OTHER SERVICES

A wedding event that shines with happiness, attended by your family, friends and relatives, together with the best-served food and services is the ultimate dream of every wedding couple. Enchanted with a truly beautiful and bedazzling wedding ensemble, and a glowing bridal look is what every couple wishes for. Problems faced, related to the venue, the makeup artist, the photographer, the catering company that could present itself at the very last minute is deeply feared by the wedding party and definitely by the wedding planner.

To avoid this from happening, every couple needs to take precautions and preventive measures and to prepare accordingly in any emergencies or issues at the last minute.

This fourth step is rather vital in planning a wedding. How is the solemnisation ceremony to take place with the Marriage Officiant also known as Juru Nikah. For brides who still have their fathers to give them away, it shall not create a situation, whereas for brides without a father, would need to appoint a Marriage Officiant to conduct and fulfil the Solemnisation process. The Marriage Officiant needs to be informed as early as possible to avoid double bookings on a specified date by the couple. Couples are also advised to book their Bridal-of-choice as early as 6 months prior the event date.

Choices need to be narrowed down so as not to cause a couple to be confused as to which Bridal is their preference. Couples may ask their family or friends who have perhaps used the services of the chosen Bridal. Should the Bridals’ reputation of excellent service and attentiveness be well-known and recommended, then the couple should opt for that particular Bridal. 5. ORDER YOUR WEDDING INVITATION CARDS

Once your wedding date and venue has been confirmed, the next step is to order your wedding invitation cards. Before making the order, please ensure that you have chosen the right company for this service. You will need to allocate time to search through the internet on the latest wedding themes. Do ensure that your wedding invitation cards are not too costly, instead to keep in as simple so it can be easily read.

Among the details to include in the wedding invitation card is Name of the Bride and Groom together with contact details of their immediate family members for easy contact. Your house address is needed if the event is to take place at your home. However, if your event will be held at a specific wedding venue or hotel, you would need to inform and provide the printing company with the full address and map of the venue location. The map leading to the venue needs to be clear and easily understood. For muslims, a wedding invitation will always have a prayer (doa) stated for the wedding couple. It is always best to include this in your wedding invitation card for the blessings and prayers of all guests are very necessary for the happiness of the newlyweds.

6. GETTING YOUR HIV TEST

A HIV Test is compulsory to be conducted before a couple decides to get married. The test is important to avoid either individual from contracting the virus should it be proven the couple is a HIV carrier. It would lead to complications if you do not undergo the HIV Test, in fear that a child born from parents who are HIV carriers could contract the virus. Before matters turn for the worst, it is best to adopt preventive measures before it is too late. The test is a very simple procedure and not to be feared.

Hence, every couple soon to be married, will need to head for the nearest government clinic without any appointments because the procedure is done very fast. At the clinic, you and your partner will be given a form to fill up, then your finger shall be pricked for blood-sampling. Soon after, your test results will be given to you in a very short period of time. There is no need for a long wait. If your test results prove you and your partner are free from HIV, you can both leave with a very big and happy smile.

7. DOCUMENTATION AND WEDDING FORMS

For every couple to be married, among the basic requirement is to fill up a few important forms and to submit the forms and supporting documents to the respective Religious Office (Pejabat Agama) before the Solemnisation day. Among the forms that need to be filled is the Application Form of Permission to Marry for both man and woman (Borang Permohonan Nikah), Form for acknowledgment of single status (Borang Akuan Bujang), Form for Witness (Borang Saksi) and a few other forms depending on ones’ status. Once the forms have been completed and filled accordingly, it has to be submitted along with certain supporting documents to the Section of Syariah Law of the Religious Department. At the said department, you will go through a short interview session regarding responsibilities of a husband towards his wife and responsibilities of a wife towards her husband conducted by an officer from the Religious Department. This method is known in the state of Johor. Every state has their own set of procedures, which is handled by their Religious Deparment, however it is still the same in terms of basic needs.

PERSEDIAAN SEBELUM KAHWIN

1. PILIH TARIKH

 

Memilih tarikh ketika musim perayaan akan menyebabkan harga barangan menjadi mahal kerana permintaan yang tinggi. Jadi, para peniaga akan mengambil kesempatan untuk menaikkan harga barang sesuka hati. Nak tak nak kita terpaksa beli tetapi satu langkah pembelian yang tidak bijak. Barangan yang paling ketara sekali mahal jika musim perayaan ialah makanan seperti ayam, daging.

Selain musim perayaan, musim cuti sekolah juga menjadi kegemaran pasangan untuk memilih tarikh perkahwinan. Hal ini untuk memudahkan saudara mara, rakan dan taulan datang ke majlis mereka. Jika semua pasangan beranggapan begini, maka akan ramailah yang kahwin semasa cuti persekolahan.

Kesannya, akan berlaku peningkatan harga terutama dari segi upah mak andam dan sebagainya.

Seperkara lagi, jangan nak tarikh yang fancy-fancy sangat. Tidak perlu ikutkan kehendak sendiri. Lebih baik tanya ibu-bapa, hormati tarikh apa yang mereka mahu.

2. HADIRI KURSUS KAHWIN

Kursus kahwin adalah perkara wajib yang perlu dilaksanakan sebelum pasangan akad nikah dan sah menjadi suami isteri. Kursus kahwin penting kerana secara kasar setiap pasangan akan mengetahui dan memahami tanggungjawab isteri kepada suami begitu juga sebaliknya. Untuk membina rumah tangga yang bahagia bukan semudah memakan kacang, bukak dan telah, tetapi perlukan ilmu asas dan pengetahuan yang 80% akan diterina semasa kursus ini.

Bagi pasangan yang akan melangsungkan perkahwinan tetapi mereka belum mengambil kursus itu, mereka perlulah mengambil kursus tersebut seelok-eloknya tiga bulan sebelum berlangsungnya majlis. Jika dia telah mengambil kursus itu 2 atau 3 tahun yang lepas, kalau boleh, anda perbahuruilah semula kursus anda supaya pengetahuan berkaitan perkahwinan akan lebih segar dalam ingatan.

3. MENEMPAH DEWAN, HOTEL, CATERING DAN LAIN-LAIN

Majlis yang berseri-seri dengan kehadiran ramai saudara mara dan rakan taulan, beserta makanan yang lazat adalah diidamkan setiap pasangan pengantin ditambah pula dengan keanggunan wajah dan baju pengantin yang cantik dipakai oleh mempelai adalah impian setiap pasangan. Masalah-masalah yanag berkaitan dewan, juru solek, juru gambar, katering yang datang saat-saat terakhir sangat ditakuti oleh pasangan dan juga keluarga mempelai.

Jadi sebelum ini terjadi, setiap pasangan perlu mengambil langkah berjaga-jaga dan persediaan awal. Dewan perkara utama perlu ditempah selepas mendapat tarikh perkahwinan yang muktamad. Pastikan anda menempah dewan enam bulan awal sekiranya majlis itu di sambut di kawasan bandar. Hal ini untuk mengelakkan harga dewan menjadi mahal sekiranya anda membuat tempahan di saat-saat akhir sebelum berlangsungnya majlis perkahwinan. Semasa membuat tempahan, pastikan anda telah mengetahui anggaran jumlah tetamu yang dijemput supaya pihak dewan boleh membuat perkiraan dan semuanya dapat diuruskan dengan lancar.

4. TEMPAH JURU NIKAH DAN ANDAMAN

Perkara ini juga tidak kurang pentingnya. Bagaimana hendak nikah jika tiada juru nikah? Bagi yang ada bapa dan boleh menikahkan anak tidak menjadi masalah. Tetapi bagi yang tiada, perlulah mengambil khidmat juru nikah. Juru nikah juga perlu diberitahu awal supaya jadualnya tidak bertindih dengan pasangan yang lain. Begitu juga dengan andaman. Pasangan dinasihatkan supaya memilih dan menempah butik andaman yang mereka minati enam bulan awal.

Pilihan untuk membuat tempahan perlu dikecilkan sedikit supaya anda tidak rambang mata dan tidak tahu untuk membuat keputusan. Tanya kepada keluarga atau kawan-kawan yang pernah menggunakan khidmat andaman yang ingin anda pilih. Jika layanan dan perkhidmatan yang diberikan sangat bagus, anda boleh memilih butik tersebut. Dalam membuat pilihan tema dan warna semasa majlis, anda perlu mementingkan pakej-pakej yang ditawarkan berbanding perkhidmatan secara berasingan.

5. TEMPAH KAD JEMPUTAN KAHWIN

Setelah tarikh dan tempat untuk melangsungkan persandingan telah ditetapkan, langkah seterusnya adalah menempah kad jemputan. Sebelum menempah, pastikan anda telah memilih tempat untuk membuat dan mencetak kad jemputan. Anda perlulah rajin untuk membuat pemilihan melalui internet tentang tema-tema terbaru dan terkini. Pastikan kad kahwin yang akan dibuat nanti tidak terlalu mahal, cukuplah ringkas dan yang penting maklumat di dalamnya boleh dibaca.

Antara isi kandungan kad jemputan yang perlu diletakkan ialah nama pengantin dan keluarga berserta nombor telefon supaya mudah tetamu hubungi. Alamat rumah jika bersanding di rumah, tetapi kalau di dewan atau hotel, perlu memberitahu alamat dan peta. Rekaan peta tempat majlis persandingan juga perlulah jelas dan mudah difahami. Selain itu, selitkan juga waktu jamuan makan dan persandingan. Bagi umat Islam, kad jemputan selalunya ada tertera doa untuk pasangan pengantin. Lagi baik jika anda turut meletaknya. Keberkatan dan doa semua tetamu sangat penting bagi kesejahteraan pengantin.

6. JALANI UJIAN HIV

Ujian saringan HIV perlu dilakukan sebelum pasangan mendirikan rumah tangga. Ujian ini penting dibuat untuk mengelakkan berlaku jangkitan kepada pasangan sekiranya terbukti pasangan itu pembawa HIV. Hal ini akan menjadi teruk dan parah lagi, jika anda tidak buat ujian saringan ini, dan pasangan pula pembawa HIV, ditakuti anak yang akan lahir turut mendapat HIV. Sebelum keadaan menjadi parah lebih baik kita cegah dahulu daripada terlambat. Mudah sahaja untuk melakukan ujian ini.

Jadi setiap pasangan perlu ke klinik kerajaan yang berdekatan, tanpa perlu temu janji kerana prosedur saringan ini ambil masa sekejap sahaja. Semasa di klinik, anda akan diberi borang untuk diisi, kemudian jari anda akan dicucuk untuk mendapat sampel darah. Setelah itu keputusan ujian akan diberitahu tanpa tunggu lama. Jadi jika ujian saringan ini membuktikan anda dan pasangan bebas dari jangkitan HIV, anda berdua boleh tersenyum panjang tanda bahagia.

7. DOKUMEN DAN BORANG PERKAHWINAN

Bagi setiap pasangan yang akan mendirikan rumah tangga, perkara asas yang perlu dilakukan juga adalah mengisi borang-borang penting dan di hantar di Pejabat Agama sebelum bernikah. Antara borang yang wajib diisi ialah borang permohonan kebenaran perkahwinan bagi perempuan dan lelaki, borang akuan bujang, borang saksi, dan ada lagi beberapa boring lain bergantung kepada status diri pasangan. Setelah semua borang dan maklumat yang diperlukan siap, dokumen tersebut perlulah dihantar ke bahagian Undang-undang Syariah Jabatan Agama. Semasa di sana nanti pasangan akan melalui sedikit sesi temu bual berkaitan tanggungjawab suami kepada isteri, dan tanggungjawab isteri kepada suami bersama pegawai agama. Cara ini selalu diamalkan di negeri Johor Bahru. Setiap negeri berbeza prosedur yang dikendalikan oleh Jabatan Agama tetapi sama dari segi keperluan yang asas dan wajib.

AKHIR KATA

Dalam melayari alam perkahwinan, setiap pasangan akan melalui pelbagai ujian dalam hidup. Jadi perlu diingatkan, kahwin bukan semudah yang disangka. Jika masih kurang ilmu di dada, perlu dalami lagi dan perlu bersedia fizikal dan mental.

Prosedur perkahwinan juga dikatakan semakin rumit. Hal ini kerana, sudah terlalu banyak kes kahwin lari, kahwin tanpa persetujuan perkahwinan, perkahwinan tidak berasaskan Islam dan banyak lagi. Jadi untuk mengelakkan perkara sebegini terjadi, prosedur yang teliti perlu dilakukan supaya tidak mendapat kesusahan di kemudian hari.
